Epic, post-holocaust, tribal cyberpunk with gothic overtones.

The band started as a project in 1994 and grew to a full touring act of 6 performers consisting of singer, guitarist, keyboardist, 2 percussionists and writhing sideshow freak/gimp. The sound that started as techno/industrial eventually led to an epic tribal sound that was very distinct.

Godless spent most of 1995 and 1996 fine-tuning their craft, playing local bars, and building up a following that eventually attracted the gothic-industrial scene in Phoenix, AZ. In addition to receiving airplay on local radio shows, the band's stature won them the opportunity to play with several national acts including Download(Cevin Key), Chemlab, and Sister Machine Gun.

In 1997, the band was nominated for the New Times Music Awards winning #1 Valley Music Scene's Best Kept Secret and #1 for I just want to see body piercings. They were described by New Times Critic, Frank Smith as Apocalyptic rock for a Mad Max world.

The CD "Rituals" most of which is available here, was recorded and mixed by Dan Nelson at "Grindstone Studios" in Phoenix and mastered by Ray Tantzen of "Jungle Studios" in Seattle's Capitol Hill District.

In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth . . . and buried deep beneath the smoldering concrete and scorched remains, the GODLESS thrived. Praising dominance, murder, and slavery, as well as the downfall of Christianity, the beautiful Lucius Warbaby led his conquest to a backdrop of pounding tribal percussion and plague.

In an insurmountable surge of feeding frenzy (the hymen broke), Brane emerged from the pack with the random sounds and mindless chaos of his ominous machines. Enter Ich Nuba - flailing percussion & the piercing wail of Azlin, Bondage Queen. Prophesy fulfilled; the grind for animalistic sex; Lex Talionis.

I believe in nothing less than to turn human beings into prey, barked Lucius to the writhing masses. Justice, equality, and world harmony shall be forgotten.

From these beliefs, spawned GODLESS.

Purge yourself from all impurities. Down on your knees, sinner! Come join the unclean, with barbed wire halos and EMBRACE THE GODLESS.
